Job Opening: Electrical SCADA Technician

JOB OBJECTIVE: Design, install, program and test new electrical controls installations. Support and maintain electrical controllers and interface at power plants and substations, as well as other Easton Utilities departments. Write specifications for electrical purchases and assist in the repair of electrical controls facilities when needed. Test and calibrate protective relaying, metering and associated equipment. Install and troubleshoot electrical systems and interfaces.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have training and experience in power plant and electric system operations. Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma and a valid Maryland driver’s license. Must have strong verbal and written communications skills to effectively work with employees and customers. Experience in designing, procuring, installing, programming and troubleshooting PLC, HMI and SCADA systems preferred. Knowledge of NESC and NFPA codes and standards also preferred. On call duty involved. Full time, exempt position.

Job Opening: Tree Trimmer

JOB OBJECTIVE: Trim trees so they will not interfere with the electric lines. Remove trees and brush from electric right-of-ways. Work with the Superintendent of Electric Distribution to ensure proper training and development of the assistant tree trimmer.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid MD CDL driver’s license. Must have Maryland Roadside Tree Certification and Maryland Herbicide Certification. Must know how to operate derrick and bucket trucks, chippers and associated tools. Must be physically able to work (climb, dig, pull, lift, walk, etc.) while exposed to hazardous conditions, extreme noise and extreme weather conditions. Occasional after hours call in for post storm restoration.

Job Opening: Apprentice Lineman

JOB OBJECTIVE: Install, maintain and repair overhead and underground cables and equipment required for the electric distribution system.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have a valid Maryland Class A Restricted CDL driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within twelve months. Must possess the aptitude and attitude to safely learn the operation of underground and overhead electric distribution systems, cable handling and splicing, and read and understand engineering drawings and maps. Must be able to learn to operate derrick and bucket trucks, trenchers and associated tools and equipment. Must be capable of physical work that includes climbing utility poles and working in open trenches with tools and equipment while being exposed to hazardous conditions and extreme noise and weather. Must also possess a high level of situational awareness. Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Must successfully complete the North West Lineman College Online Apprentice Lineman program within five years of hire date. This is a full time non-exempt with on-call duty and overtime requirements. Must live within 15 miles of 219 N. Washington Street.
