Job Opening: Apprentice Water Distribution & WW Collections Operator

Easton Utilities has an opening for an Apprentice Water Distribution & WW Collections Operator. This person will perform operation and maintenance tasks on the water distribution system and gravity-flow wastewater collection system in order to provide superior quality water and wastewater services to the customer.

Knowledge and experience with plumbing is helpful. Must have good verbal communication skills and ability to work well with the public. Job involves driving, operation of heavy equipment, lifting, bending, and digging in all weather conditions. Must obtain the Water Distribution Certification within 18 months of employment and must obtain the Wastewater Collection Certification within 30 months of employment. On call once every four weeks. Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent and valid driver’s license. Full time, non-exempt position.

Job Opening: Assistant Control Room Operator

Easton Utilities has an immediate opening for an Assistant Control Room Operator.

JOB OBJECTIVE:  To learn the duties of the system Operator and assist the Operator in his duties. Those duties include: Monitor and operate the electric system and power plants.  Handle communications and dispatching for all departments outside regular business hours.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:  Must possess the aptitude and attitude to safely learn power plant operations, electric transmission system, distribution system, computer operation, SCADA, communication equipment and gauge boards.  Accurate record keeping is essential.  Must be able to perform physical work that involves climbing, crawling, squatting, and working with up to 55 gallon barrels. Must be able to work with exposure to extreme noise and heat and during periods of high stress.  Must also possess a high level of situational awareness.  Must meet and maintain EUC and PJM training requirements.  Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.  Full time, non-exempt shift work position.

Varying work schedule includes rotating weeks of overnights and weekends. Full time, non-exempt shift work position.
