ACE Mentor Program
In our ongoing efforts to support educational efforts in the community, Easton Utilities is a sponsor of the ACE Mentor Program of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. ACE seeks to inform and motivate students toward careers in architecture, construction management and engineering, and to provide mentoring and scholarship opportunities for those interested in pursuing those fields. Easton Utilities provides financial support and student mentoring for the program.

Junior Achievement Mentoring Program
Easton Utilities has joined the Town of Easton, Talbot County schools and area businesses to educate and inspire our young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics to improve the quality of their lives through connections with members of our business community. JA is the world's largest and fastest-growing organization dedicated to educating young people about Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, and Work Readiness Skills. Our mission is to ensure that every child in Talbot County has a fundamental understanding of the free enterprise system. Through the generous support of business, foundations and individuals in our community, JA provides its materials free of charge to our schools. Programs span K-12, with age-appropriate curricula designed to teach elementary students about their roles as individuals, workers, and consumers and to prepare middle grade and high school students for key economic and workforce issues they will face. In the counties of Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Dorchester, Talbot and Caroline Counties, JA of the Eastern Shore reaches approximately 4,000 students each year in almost 150 classrooms.

Adopt-A-School
Each year, we participate in the Adopt-A-School program, and have been fortunate to work with the students at Easton Elementary Dobson. Program events include Career Day and weekly reading sessions to kindergartners. We have also donated books, waiting area benches to the school and other materials to the school.

Free Enterprise Workshop
Another community program we are happy to be part of is the Free Enterprise Workshop that is sponsored by the Talbot Chamber Chesapeake Leadership Foundation and Partners in Education Committee. This program is a semester-long course in which a small group of selected educators visit participating area business to gain first-hand knowledge of business operations and their affect on the community. As part of the course, which offers three MSDE In-service Credits, educators are required to give a final presentation incorporating material learned from these visits into a lesson plan for their students.

Local Holiday Events
Easton Utilities works with several area organizations to help produce holiday events. Working with Easton Main Street, Easton Utilities provides electric service to the annual July 4th Celebration. We also provide funding and resources to assist in the decorating the town for the holiday season. The Electric Department is behind the scenes of the First Friday tree lighting event held in Thompson Park each December. The Electric Department sets up special electric services to provide power for the night of the event as well as to light the trees, decorated by several local arts groups, all season long. Each year the Electric Department also takes on the task of hanging wreaths crafted by the Talbot County Garden Club around the town.
