Nichole Farr
Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
How long have you been with Easton Utilities?
4 years
Briefly describe your job history at EU.
I started at the front desk as an entry level Administrative Assistant. I then moved up to Executive Assistant a year later working under the CEO. At this time, I was under the veil of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Entering year three of my job as an Executive Assistant, I was informed of the future retirement of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. I then started training and receiving the qualifications needed to apply for that position. I now sit as the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and have been in this position for about 6 months.
What is your favorite part of your job and working for EU?
Believe it or not, I love my job. I enjoy coming to work every day with a smile not knowing what most of the day may hold. My day can go from scheduled hours to complete chaos in 30 minutes. My favorite part of the job is getting to work with tons of other departments and employees, constantly learning new things.
Is there one key moment that stands out as significant or unique during your career at EU?
I think the most unique part about EU, is the fact that we try all we can to promote within. It’s very encouraging to know that we try to elevate our own employees and it gives them motivation to work harder.
What is your favorite EU tradition?
I enjoy the holiday luncheon, since Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I enjoy getting together will the entire company and seeing everyone in good spirit.
How do you feel EU positively impacts the community?
We really do try our best to have the best prices for our customers. Electric, Gas, Water/Wastewater, Cable, and Internet all strive to have the lowest prices in the area. Even if this is still to high for some customers, our amazing collections department works hard with customers to ensure they stay connected with different types of payment plans.
Describe your life outside of work.
My Husband and I enjoy spending time with family, traveling around the world, fishing, hunting, going out on the water, line dancing (mine not his) and taking on new projects around the house. I am a new member of the Talbot County Young Professionals and I enjoy getting into volunteer opportunities with that group as well.
Tell us a little bit about your family.
I have been happily married for a year and a half now and we have a four year old Siberian Husky named Nala.
What plans do you have for the future?
I plan on growing for the better the future of the Facilities Department and the teamwork of EU. I don’t know what my future holds in terms of my career here at EU, but I know this is where I want to stay.
