Easton Utilities is currently seeking to fill the position of Assistant Operator I.
JOB OBJECTIVE: To learn the duties of the Control Room Operator and assist the Control Room Operator in their duties. Those duties include monitor and operate the electric system and power plants. Handle communications and dispatching for all departments outside regular business hours. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with varying work schedule including rotating weeks of overnights and weekends.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess the aptitude and attitude to safely learn power plant operations, electric transmission system, distribution system, computer operation, SCADA, communication equipment, and gauge boards.
- Must possess a high level of situational awareness.
- Must meet and maintain EUC and PJM training requirements.
- Accurate record keeping is essential.
- Must be able to access the top of engines and basements to record readings and inspect equipment.
- Must have the ability to obtain a Stationary Engineer License – Fifth Grade or higher.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must successfully complete the Northwest Lineman College System Operator Certification Program within two years of hire date.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work with exposure to extreme noise, heat, and during periods of high stress.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment into and between plants.
- Must wear proper PPE at all times.

Easton Utilities is currently seeking to fill the position for a Manager of External Affairs.
JOB OBJECTIVE: To play an integral strategic role encompassing policy oversight, growth planning, infrastructure funding mechanisms, and external partnership cultivation to drive sustainable development and uphold the organization’s commitment to affordable, reliable and accessible utility services across Easton and Talbot County. The Manager of External Affairs will evaluate public policy issues, anticipate regulatory policy shifts, and analyze emerging technologies to inform executive decision-making through insightful analysis of projections, alternatives and impact trade-offs that balance risk management with return potentials. The Manager of External Affairs will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of all grant funding pursuits for Easton Utilities including the research, application, networking, management and administration of the entire grant funding process.
While proactively ushering influence across elected bodies, government agencies, stakeholders, and external affairs, this position will accelerate strategic initiatives to responsibly power quality of life as Easton Utilities continues its customer-focused public service mission.
This is a full-time, exempt position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and five years related experience in the areas of:
- public policy
- infrastructure grant funding
- developing legislative partnerships
- conducting research for strategic and/or special projects

Easton Utilities is currently seeking to fill the position of Easton Velocity Network Engineer.
JOB OBJECTIVE: To design, deploy and manage Easton Velocity’s core, distribution and broadband networks that support current and future products and services for our customers. This is a full-time position. Levels I & II are non-exempt, Level III is exempt from overtime.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
For placement at Easton Velocity Network Engineer I:
- High School Diploma with minimum of 1 year of related experience.
- Must have familiarity of network engineering including, but not limited to broadband access technologies, network architectures, routing, switching, network traffic policies, optical distribution technologies, etc.
- Must possess an analytical mindset with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Must be able to follow processes, effectively communicate both verbal and written and accurately document work.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
For placement at Easton Velocity Network Engineer II:
- In addition to the requirements for Easton Velocity Network Engineer I;
- Associate degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent field of study with minimum of 3 years’ of total related experience or equivalent work experience.
- Must have knowledge of network engineering including, but not limited to broadband access (DOCSIS and PON), network architectures, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc), switching, network traffic policies, optical distribution technologies, etc.
For placement at Easton Velocity Network Engineer III:
- In addition to the requirements for Easton Velocity Network Engineer I & II;
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent field of study with minimum of 5 years’ of total related experience or equivalent work experience.

JOB OBJECTIVE: To assist customers in payments, understanding their bill, scheduling services, troubleshooting problems, and keeping their personal information up-to-date. To always provide the highest quality Customer Service while representing Easton Utilities. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in basic office functions including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, data entry, telephone etiquette, and cash-handling.
- Must have the ability to interact with the public in a professional, positive manner.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
