Job Opening: Apprentice Water Distribution & WW Collection Operator
Easton Utilities has an opening for an Apprentice Water Distribution & WW Collection Operator. This person will perform operation and maintenance tasks on the water distribution system and gravity-flow wastewater collection system in order to provide superior quality water and wastewater services to the customer.
Knowledge and experience with plumbing is helpful. Must have good verbal communication skills and ability to work well with the public. Job involves driving, operation of heavy equipment, lifting, bending, and digging in all weather conditions. Must obtain the Water Distribution Certification within 18 months of employment and must obtain the Wastewater Collection Certification within 30 months of employment. On call once every four weeks. Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent. A valid MD Class A Restricted CDL or the ability to obtain one within twelve months of employment (minimum of 18 years of age requirement per MD MVA) is required. This is a full time, non-exempt position.

Job Opening: Electrical SCADA Technician
JOB OBJECTIVE: Design, install, program and test new electrical controls installations. Support and maintain electrical controllers and interface at power plants and substations, as well as other Easton Utilities departments. Write specifications for electrical purchases and assist in the repair of electrical controls facilities when needed. Test and calibrate protective relaying, metering and associated equipment. Install and troubleshoot electrical systems and interfaces.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have training and experience in power plant and electric system operations. Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma and a valid Maryland driver’s license. Must have strong verbal and written communications skills to effectively work with employees and customers. Experience in designing, procuring, installing, programming and troubleshooting PLC, HMI and SCADA systems preferred. Knowledge of NESC and NFPA codes and standards also preferred. On call duty involved. Full time, exempt position.
