Samantha Jeter
Customer Service Specialist
How long have you worked for Easton Utilities?
I began my career with Easton Utilities on January 16, 2007.
Describe your job history at EU.
My history with EUC began as a Customer Service Representative. In 2019 I was promoted from Representative to “Specialist”.
What is your favorite part of your job and working for EU?
My favorite part about my role at EUC is being able to assist the many, many customers that I encounter both inside and outside of the office and knowing that I was able to assist them in some way and hopefully make a positive difference in their day.
My favorite part about working for EUC is simply being a part of a well-known and well-liked community organization… and a huge shout out to my CSR colleagues too! We are like family. They make work worth it!!!
During your service with EU, is there one key moment that stands out as significant or unique?
The one key significant/unique moment which stands out was that crazy day in March 2020 when the world was “shaken” by COVID-19. We were given a laptop, office phone, and notepad and sent home to telework full time. The days of working in the office had come to a halt! We had to come together as a unit, race to answer our cell phone (that became fun), learn how to connect to ZOOM meetings (I never did get the video to connect – Lol), and just learn to adjust to so many other sudden changes in my life. Through all the chaos and interruptions, everyone came together and figured it out, kept the office tasks going (from my dining room table) and never missed a beat. MARCH 2020 REALLY SHOWED A TEAM OF CUSTOMER-FOCUSED EMPLOYEES!!!!
What EU tradition is your favorite and why?
My absolute favorite EU tradition by far is the annual company picnic. Not only do we get 3 hours to share lots of laughs with our colleagues and family, but we get to share it over FOOD!!! (hot steamed crabs, some BBQ, sides, and homemade ice cream). We get to see who gets “bragging-rights” over a good cornhole competition. Although I think I can take it for the women – the men cheat. LOL but we will have to see.
How do you feel EU positively impacts the community?
EUC positively impacts the community it serves in many ways by always being willing and able to step in when needed and being there for other organizations in their community efforts whenever needed. Whether it be hanging Christmas lights, volunteering at Waterfowl, participating in the Christmas Parade (I was Frosty one year), volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, or simply planting a tree… EU is always available.
Describe your life outside of work.
My life outside of EU is quality time with family, friends, and my precious furry family (Diamond & Buster). However, if I’m not traveling to watch my daughter play NCAA College volleyball, then you can surely catch me gathered with friends playing LRC (left, right, center) or looking for a competitive game of Spades. Although, I am getting pretty good at bowling too.
Describe the members of your family and any pets.
My beautiful family is made up with love: my husband (Gordon – 25years); son (Dre); daughter (Myia); Diamond (Bichon/Poodle); Buster (Rottweiler)
What plans do you have for the future?
My plans for the future…..hmmm?? I haven’t really given it much thought other than to retire happy, healthy and wealthy (hopefully-Lol). With all that is happening in the world – I take nothing for granted and live for today because tomorrow is not promised.
