Easton Utilities is pleased to announce it has received $2.625 million in federal Community Project Funding (CPF) to support the construction of a new drinking water well and control building, an important investment in the community’s water infrastructure.
The new drinking water well and control building are part of Easton Utilities’ continued efforts to proactively maintain and strengthen the infrastructure necessary to serve the community. As infrastructure needs and associated costs continue to grow, partnerships and funding opportunities such as CPF help reduce the financial burden of major capital improvements while allowing essential projects to move forward.
“Easton’s community is growing, and its water infrastructure must meet the increasing demands of new homes and businesses, as well as the new University of Maryland Shore Regional Medical Center. I’m proud to have worked with Easton Utilities to secure $2.625 million for the new well and control building, adding another source of clean drinking water for Easton,” states Congressman Andy Harris, M.D.

Currently, there are five active wells within the community providing more than 3 million gallons of drinking water every day to residents, businesses, and visitors. Located on the southwest end of Easton, the new well will serve the entirety of the Town of Easton’s drinking water system, increasing capacity and providing additional resiliency to help meet the community’s current and future water needs.
