Easton Utilities is joining utilities across the country in recognizing Public Power Week, Public Natural Gas Week and Water Professionals Appreciation Week, celebrating the essential services these community-owned utilities provide and the dedicated employees who safely and reliably serve the Easton community.
Public Power Week celebrates the benefits of community-owned electricity and the employees responsible for keeping the lights on. “Our team takes tremendous pride in providing safe and reliable electric service to our customers,” said Eddie Westerfield, Electric Manager for Easton Utilities. “Because we are part of the community, we understand how important it is to be responsive, prepared and there when our customers need us.”
Public Natural Gas Week recognizes the professionals who safely operate and maintain natural gas systems serving homes and businesses. “Safety is at the center of everything we do, from maintaining our system to responding to our customers,” said Tucker Bullock, Gas and Meter Manager for Easton Utilities. “We are proud to provide a reliable energy source while continually investing in our system and the community’s future.”
Water Professionals Appreciation Week honors the employees who help ensure customers have access to safe, reliable drinking water, wastewater collection, as well as maintain the infrastructure necessary to support the community. “Providing safe, reliable drinking water, and effective wastewater collection and treatment, are responsibilities our team takes very seriously,” said Doug Abbott, Director of Engineering, Water and Wastewater for Easton Utilities. “Much of the work required to operate and maintain our water and wastewater system happens behind the scenes, and this week gives us an opportunity to recognize the dedicated professionals who make it possible every day.”
Together, these observances highlight the value of locally owned utilities and the employees who maintain the critical infrastructure supporting Easton’s homes, businesses and quality of life.
