Easton Utilities is currently seeking to fill the position of Instrument and Controls Technician II/III
JOB OBJECTIVE: Under minimal supervision, work on the design, installation, programming, and testing of new electrical utility installations. Support and maintain existing electrical and control-type equipment at power plants, substations, EUC facilities, and the Town of Easton. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with on-call requirements. Fully in-person, not remote.
HIRING RANGE: $36-43/hr or higher depending upon experience and qualifications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
For placement at Instrument and Controls Technician II:
- Thorough knowledge of electricity, and Microsoft Office products.
- Must possess good communication skills to effectively work with internal and external departmental customers.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of logic functions, computer programing, such as C++, communication protocols, such as Modbus, and various software platforms like Modicon for PLCs.
- Must know how to use electrical tools such as digital multimeters, power supplies, and frequency generators.
- Must be able to install, troubleshoot, and repair single-phase and three-phase electrical motors, motor control circuits, lighting circuits, and other associated electrical equipment.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- In-depth understanding of the installation, testing, and calibration of electrical equipment and systems, such as motors, pumps, VFDs, circuit breakers, transformers, metering, and transducers at power plants, substations, and other Easton Utilities locations.
- Knowledge to test and calibrate electrical equipment, protective relaying, metering, and transducers at the power plants and substations.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLCs, and SCADA systems.

Easton Utilities is currently seeking to fill the position of Infrastructure Locator (Apprentice, Level I or Level II) for the Engineering Department.
JOB OBJECTIVE: To inform members of the public, contractors, utilities, locators, and other persons or entities who would be involved in planned or emergency excavation regarding underground facility identification. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with on-call requirements.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE: Driving, bending, walking long distances, digging, lifting up to 100lbs, climbing steps, and the physical use of all locating equipment. Must follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times. Must have physical ability to frequently ingress underground manholes and vaults.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Identify and locate any underground facility prior to any planned or emergency excavation or demolition activities.
- Identify and mark electric, gas, water and sewer, and communication lines per each location request.
- Work with Locating Team to clear each request from the Miss Utility center to the requestor.
- Work with ESRI Team to update general distribution maps and records using ESRI sketches when verified field information contradicts existing ESRI mapping data.
- Participate in preparing damage reports.
- Assist the Engineering Department staff with any engineering functions as requested.
- Regular on-call duty required. Must reside within a 30-mile radius of Easton with a maximum of 60 minutes between the initial call and arrival on-site.
Successful applicants will be eligible for placement at the following levels based on the following experience requirements:
FOR PLACEMENT AT THE APPRENTICE LOCATOR POSITION:
Annual salary of $53,669 or higher depending upon experience and credentials.
- The above job functions would be done under the instruction of the Infrastructure Locator Field Supervisor.
- This is an entry level position for a non-certified infrastructure locator.
- Must have basic computer skills, mechanical aptitude, good verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently.

JOB OBJECTIVE: The Safety Manager serves as an ambassador and key leader responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and continuous advancement of comprehensive safety and health programs across the organization’s diverse utility operations. These include electric power distribution, substations, generation facilities, natural gas systems, water and wastewater treatment, and telecommunications systems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:

GAS OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN TRAINEE
HIRING RANGE: $19.65/hr. or higher depending upon experience
JOB OBJECTIVE: Provide Easton Utilities gas customers with dependable and consistent quality service through the construction and maintenance of Easton Utilities natural gas distribution pipeline system, regulators and customer service lines. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with on-call requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Good verbal communication skills and ability to work well with customers, contractors, and fellow employees.
- Knowledge of basic report preparation, ability to do arithmetic calculations, knowledge of computers and computer operating systems.
- Ability to understand construction drawings and blueprints.

JOB OBJECTIVE: To assist customers in payments, understanding their bill, scheduling services, troubleshooting problems, and keeping their personal information up-to-date. To always provide the highest quality Customer Service while representing Easton Utilities. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in basic office functions including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, data entry, telephone etiquette, and cash-handling.
- Must have the ability to interact with the public in a professional, positive manner.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
