Three from Easton Utilities Graduate from Leadership Programs

Easton Utilities is pleased to recognize three valuable leaders in the organization as they completed prestigious programs aimed at professional development and enhancing leadership skills. “We are proud of these driven individuals for committing to their personal growth which will have a positive and beneficial impact on all employees as we continue shaping the future of our company,” said Vicki Petro, VP of Human Resources for Easton Utilities.

Ted Book, VP of Easton Velocity, completed the Executive Program through Leadership Maryland; Doug Abbott, Director of Engineering, Water/Wastewater and Gas, completed the Shore Leadership program; and John Englehart, Manager of Human Resources, completed the new Emerging Leader Program by Leadership Maryland.

Book was one of 51 individuals chosen by a committee to complete the eight-month hands-on learning program for executives dedicated to building a better Maryland. The class visited Maryland’s five main geographic regions and the most vital issues impacting economic development, education, health and human services, criminal justice, the environment, and multi-culturalism/diversity across the state.

Abbott joined 24 other business and community leaders as they embarked on the eight-month Shore Leadership program. Leadership topics covered include: The Neuroscience of Leadership,

Transformational Leadership, Leading Change, Leading with Strengths, Creativity, Leading Teams, and Personal Mission and Coaching for Excellence. In the afternoons, the class learned about different regional topic such as agriculture, environment and legacy, manufacturing, workforce training and education, tourism, and government.

Englehart was one of 39 individuals selected to complete the six-month hands-on learning program targeting the rising stars within the state’s public, private, government, education and nonprofit sectors. This new program is designed to help each applicant increase their self-awareness and gain behaviors, skills, and tools to become more adaptive, inclusive, strategic, and impactful leaders.
