Easton Utilities is proud to announce the promotion of two outstanding leaders whose dedication, expertise, and vision have played a significant role in the organization’s success.
Effective immediately, Ted Book has been promoted to President of Easton Velocity. Throughout his tenure, Book has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a steadfast commitment to delivering innovative telecommunications services to the communities Easton Velocity serves. As President, he will lead the company’s strategic direction, operations, and continued growth initiatives.
Ted began his career with Easton Utilities in 1997 and has spent nearly three decades helping shape the growth and success of Easton Velocity, beginning with the development and launch of internet service in Easton in 1998. He has also been instrumental in the planning and system design for Connect Talbot; the rural broadband initiative focused on bringing high-speed internet access to unserved residents and businesses throughout Talbot County.
In addition, John Hines has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Easton Utilities. Hines has been instrumental in overseeing operational excellence, implementing efficiencies, and supporting the continued advancement of utility services throughout the region. In his new role as COO, he will provide executive leadership across Easton Utilities’ operations while helping guide the organization’s long-term strategic objectives.
Hines joined Easton Utilities in 2004 and has held several positions within the Electric Department, steadily advancing through the organization while demonstrating a strong commitment to operational excellence, safety, and reliability. Prior to his promotion to COO, he served as Vice President of Operations, overseeing critical utility functions and infrastructure projects.
