Easton Utilities Receives Award for Natural Gas Operational Excellence and Celebrates 5,000 Natural Gas Customers

The American Public Gas Association (APGA) presented Easton Utilities with the APGA System Operational Achievement Recognition (SOAR) for excellence in operating its natural gas utility.

Out of approximately 750 APGA members, Easton Utilities was selected for the Bronze SOAR by its peers on the APGA Operations and Safety Committee. The selection was based on demonstrated excellence in four areas: system integrity, system improvement, employee safety, and workforce development.

That commitment to improvement is reflected in the utility’s continued growth. Easton Utilities recently surpassed 5,000 natural gas customers, a milestone made possible by serving new developments in their 8.5 square mile territory. As the community continues to grow, Easton Utilities remains focused on expanding its natural gas systems while maintaining the safe, reliable service that customers have come to expect.

“Receiving the APGA SOAR Award while exceeding 5,000 natural gas customers is a tremendous milestone for our team,” said Tucker Bullock, Gas and Meter Department Manager at Easton Utilities. “Every member of our Gas Department takes great pride in maintaining the highest operational standards, and this recognition reinforces our commitment to delivering dependable service to every customer we serve.”

APGA is the national association of municipally and publicly‐owned local distribution systems. There are about 1,000 public gas systems serving more than 5 million customers. These public gas utilities are not‐for‐profit retail distribution entities that are owned by, and accountable to, the citizens they serve. They include municipal gas distribution systems, public utility districts, county districts, and other public agencies that have natural gas distribution facilities.
